It's a good-looking model that boasts useful features like an autofill water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It also performs well in our cooling tests, although we're not too fond of its gimmicky polygon handles and the bins with a crisper design appear a bit fragile.
Bespoke is an option that makes the RF23M8090SG stand out. It lets you customize your refrigerator with removable colored panels. There are 11 color options, ranging from pastels to more vibrant hues. There are four metallic finishes. Some of these panels can be customized by adding photos or text, making the fridge a personal touch point that can match your tie-dye Crocs, Rick Owens dress or Andy Warhol banana neon sign.
You can even change the color of the fridge's LED lighting, which is nice. The interior of the refrigerator is finished with a sophisticated finish that reduces smudges and makes cleaning easier. The only downsides of the RF23M8090SG are its somewhat congested beverage center and some learning curve when it comes to opening the door-indoor feature that houses a water jug and a dispenser. You need to look for a lever on the side of the door that is halfway across, and once you do, it opens a second door within the refrigerator that houses the docking station for the pitcher as well as the water dispenser, and two shelves for drinks.

It also has some annoying problems. Our test data shows that the FGHB2866PF gets warm quite some in the freezer, and it can be uncomfortable warm in the fridge's innermost shelving. This might not seem too bad at first however, it means that the fridge is spending a large portion of its time above 33 degrees.

It's got enough storage to meet the needs of many families and does a great job at keeping food fresh. Even even if it's not a green unit, it's still much less expensive than our top-rated models.
